Where It Started

wrc-logoWhile a student at the University of New Hampshire, I took a work-study position at the UNH Publications and Communications Department. My supervisor asked me to design a logo for the Water Resources Research Center—but I explained I didn’t know how. He gave me a crash course in logo design and told me I had until the end of the day to show him something. This is what I designed with black paint and markers.

Around the same time, I entered a logo design contest to create the mark for the UNH Women’s Resource Center. It won first place. I then decided to become a graphic designer.
